3d Artist, Visual Effects Artist, Video Director, Game Developer

I am an experienced, highly motivated young artist seeking opportunities to gain entry into professional 3d art, animation, or visual effects fields following a decade of learning diverse skills through unpaid personal projects. I'm used to developing ambitious art, video productions, and video games with limited schedules, budgets, and resources. I am an enthusiastic, creative person, and I love working on art projects.
- Highly creative
- Hardworking
- Intelligent
- Efficient
- Varied skills
- Cost-effective

I have experience with the following applications:

Lightwave, 3d Studio Max, RealFlow, Photoshop, Corel Painter, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Dreamweaver, Flash CS3, and more.

Notable Achievements:

I have...

-Created over 60 videos containing over 1800 visual effects shots during the last few years.

-Produced multiple computer games, flash presentations, and virtual tours.

-Designed and marketed a web network viewed by over 240,000 web viewers, and bookmarked by over 35,000 people.  Has over a dozen domains running, with this being the most visited one, with over 100,000 unique visitors so far, and an Alexa ranking which places it among the top 2 million most viewed websites on the internet.

-Completed paid freelance design and 3d graphics work for multiple clients, including projects in graphic design, web design, and previsualization.

-Directed personal action video "Duel 2030", including creation of 100+ digital visual effects shots, set construction, costumes, props, makeup, miniature pyrotechnics, location shooting, editing, and sound design, on a budget of under $1000. (Duel 2030 is currently in postproduction and is one of many videos I've made or am making.)

-Continued development of massive adventure game "Traveler's Enigma" for over 3 years, including thousands of lines of code, dozens of 3d environments, and 15 minutes of animation, on a $600 budget.

-Created all graphics and sound design for "Ambassador," a real-time strategy title for the Xbox 360 developed with a team of student programmers.

-Begun development on an iPhone adventure game, "Isola".

-Produced a detailed realtime 3d level which runs in the Unreal 3 and Plasma 2 game engines, as well as realtime environments in the Torque 3d 2009 engine.  (See worlds here).

Designed a highly creative series of worlds with "Miniature Multiverse", using panoramas captured inside 1/24th scale miniature environments.

Launched a line of custom rapid-prototyped model railroading products and several successful stock footage collections.

Education Background:

I reached the rank of Eagle Scout with boy scout Troop 4, and have remained there as a volunteer Assistant Scoutmaster for five years since then.

I have graduated Magna Cum Laude at the University of Houston, with Phi Kappa Phi membership, a major in Media Production, a minor in Studio Art, and success in additional courses in Game Development with the Computer Science department.

I have also spent tens of thousands of hours outside of class teaching myself skills in a wide range of artistic disciplines, from modelmaking, painting, and drawing, to 2d and 3d digital art and animation, visual effects, video postproduction, and game design. I am young, I am enthusiastic about art, video, and software production, and I am willing to do visual effects, web design, 3d and traditional art work, at $8.00/hr or so (plus any materials cost or project-specific software, tools)

You can send me an email describing the parameters of your project, and we can negotiate on payment... and perhaps reach an agreement. You should know that in some cases, for non-profits or worthy causes, or if your project allows room for creative freedom or just seems like a lot of fun... cutting payment down to around $5-6/hour or so, is not out of the question.   In the past, I've worked for $10/hr, $7.50/hr, $6/hr, even $3/hr or - in rare instances - free... it really does depend on the nature of the project and the situations you and I are in at the time when it is brought up...
